I apply passion to everything I do. Like every beauty-buff knows, passion, like a great lip-gloss, is an essential key to success.

I've always been a very visual person, expressing and exploring my creativity in many ways throughout my life. I started off experimenting with makeup early on, and began teaching myself by studying the work of those whom I admired. I was able to work to achieve success as a makeup artist and began working alongside some of Canada's best photographers. It was on-set that I started the practice of shaping the models' eyebrows as soon as they sat in my chair. Seeing the immediate definition it added to their faces, I realized the strength of this practice and ideas began to formulate in my head.

Over the next 20 years, I continued my work in beauty and fashion, moving over to the magazine world by working as a beauty editor at Canada's leading fashion magazines. These opportunities further allowed me to express my creativity through different visual means, from exploring and reporting on new beauty practices, to fashion direction and styling.

Often, I would return home to my family from my days in the beauty world with wonderful ideas of starting my own beauty studio, and I would tell stories to my girls of all my experiences. It wasn't long before my eldest daughter Natalie said: "Come on mum, let's stop talking about it and let's do it!"

Gee Beauty has become the lifelong culmination of my creative passion and my entrepreneurial spirit. As the "mother" of Gee Beauty, I strive to continue to cultivate and execute my concept of modern beauty and skincare by providing time-sensitive, customer-focused services that cater to our clients' busy lifestyles. Each client that walks into Gee Beauty is a unique opportunity for us to listen to her individual needs, and to create something fresh and personal each and every time. It's with this approach that we're able to give our clients a great sense of self-confidence and empowerment by offering them the tools to achieve this.

With many accolades and recognition for the Gee Beauty concept since its inception, I'm so proud to be able to share my vision with my daughters and see come to fruition. Enjoy

NATALIE

Being raised in a creative and entrepreneurial household, I grew up knowing that I would strive to be successful, having passion and dedication taught to me from a very young age.

I was always fascinated by my mother's career as a beauty and fashion editor, and as a young girl I would enjoy the times I could go with my mother "on-set", watching her apply makeup and style at fashion shoots.

While I began my career in film and television production, I also studied business with the desire to one day have my own company.

Fueling my strong entrepreneurial spirit, my freshly learned business skills and knowledge of the beauty world handed down from my mother, I began writing the business plan for what would eventually become Gee Beauty. I observed that there was a lack of high-end, time-efficient beauty services that catered to modern men and women who don't have a lot of time to spend at a spa, yet want to maintain a healthy beauty/grooming routine. From this insight, the concept was born.

Our family collaboration of Gee Beauty has led us to success, as the demand for beauty-on-the-go that can be attained as easily as your Starbucks is strong. Together with my mother, we have created a concept that women can really relate to because it integrates easily in their busy lives.

My sisters and I were brought up in a creative house that encouraged us to be expressive. Being surrounded by fashion and design-oriented people from such a young age inspired us to express our own creativity, sometimes dressing up and putting fashion shows on complete with hair and makeup, or cutting and pasting our own magazines. Sharing a love of fashion, beauty and design magazines since I can remember, we would (and still do) constantly tear out visuals that we loved, that were inspirational - something that encouraged us to try something new, provided a chic and stylish fantasy, or even something completely abstract that we could find inspiration in. Channeling this visual lust into a viable interest in the world of beauty and style came naturally to us, having watched our mother pursue her career in the fashion and beauty world. Doing people's makeup was really my first form of practical artistic expression. I was taught early into my teenage years the importance of a good skincare regime that not only helped with current skin concerns but as well helped with prevention for the future. Learning the makeup and skincare tricks of the trade from an insider's perspective and being able to help other women feel gorgeous and empowered is really why Gee Beauty was created.

Being a graphic designer and working on the artistic and visual direction of Gee Beauty allows me the unique experience of contributing to the creative direction of our brand, which we hope to grow even stronger in the years to come. What I love most about Gee Beauty is how modern our concept is. We provide such a unique, timely and stylish approach to traditional beauty and grooming routines, and by evolving from convention, we better represent beauty as a daily part of our lives.

Hi, I'm Stephanie, the youngest Gee girl. Growing up in the Gee family has taught me the importance of good skin care and beauty. Since the age of ten I have been taking care of my face but I dreaded getting facials. I felt so awkward and intimidated at big spas - I didn't feel there was a place for me. As my mother and sisters' dreams of Gee Beauty began to grow, the teenage aspect has always been apart of our philosophy. It is so vital to start a skin care routine in your teen years and now, years later, I am so appreciative to my mother for making me wash and care for my face every single night. Not only has Gee Beauty improved my skin it has also helped me grow into a more confident young woman. A big part of being in high school is going out with your friends, and there is no better place to get my make up, nails and brows done, pre-party. Gee Beauty's atmosphere is young, fresh and uninhibiting– the perfect place for a teenager, girl or guy, who may feel a little shy or insecure about the changes they're going through. I am so lucky and thankful for Gee Beauty's arrival because it's given me the confidence to use this health and beauty knowledge to my advantage. Just as I encourage my friends to stop by, I encourage all teenagers to trust the philosophy behind Gee Beauty and to come experience uniqueness for themselves.
